How many volcanoes are in Italy? The count is difficoult, many are unactive for centuries, some are submarine. Three active volcanoes are in Sicily: Vulcano and Stromboli are in the middle of the sea, while Etna, the taller Europe volcano, is easily reachable from Catania airport in an unforgettable one-day trip.
